About

I started listening to electronic music back in 1996 and to that time got first in touch with the local party scene of my former home town Essen City . Back in these days, I was fascinated by the spirit of electronic music and soon developped an interest for a funkier, groovier kind of sound which was soon going to become my passion.

In 1997 I got in contact with turntables for the first time and started collecting records. My early influences include the likes of Dj Rasoul, Ian Pooley, Knee Deep Brothers or Sébastien Léger but also techno artists such as Jeff Mills or Laurent Garnier. Though house and its roots in early chicago sound had a deep impact on myself, I very soon openened my mind for new styles, and accordingly my sets began to range across jazzy, funk and soul influenced records as well as tech-house, electroish songs and breakbeat / nujazz nuggets.

With partner and friend Manuel Tur, we were getting into the production thing and joined forces shortly after meeting the first time coincidentally on a return journey from a school trip. Manuel and me were amazed by the fact we shared our interest in house and got heavily obsessed with finding and collecting records and digged for new stuff nearly every day of the week.

Since then, I have tried to keep my record collection as manifold as possible and always try to cover various styles in a set. They can range from soothing, laidback jazz stuff over tracky westcoast house to afro, tech- and tribal-madness.

Apart from my musical passion I’m working as a student in media & applied IT and will finish my degree in about 1.5 years. Means the other part of my personal interests covers stuff like digital media, web development and design issues. You might hear me talk about that in my blog as well.

Well, thanks for stopping by, enjoy and leave me a message if desired. I’m always glad to hear from you.
