Freerange has reached its 100th release

Freerange 100… and with this in your box you can probably not go wrong when it comes to making the crowd go wild. Three stunning tracks by Milton Jackson, Square One and Manuel Tur, each very successfull appraoches on creating outstanding clubtunes.

My favourite is Manuel Tur’s “Boxed Rivers” but as i said you can’t go wrong with any of the tracks. Very well selected deep house / tech house quality. I will be curious about what part 2 has to offer… (more…)

Check out this great piece of music

Aaron Jerome - Time To RearrangeLondon’s rising artist Aaron Jerome has recently released his debut album and whatever genre this may fall into (probably something in between Nu-Jazz, Contemporary Soul and World Music), this stuff just makes me feel good. Simply good music to listen and (in parts) dance to.

I first got in touch with Aaron’s stuff while browsing through some laid-back dj mixes over at Red Bull Music Academy Radio. I found his Train Wreck mix which also includes some stuff from his LP and i just couldn’t stop (more…)

Offtrack Radio Show, hosted by Dirk Rumpff

Dirk RumpffAs for those of you who are in favour of dj mixes across various genres, I would highly recommend to you Dirk Rumpff’s Offtrack Radio Show. It’s a bi-weekly broadcast that covers everything from jazz over hip-hop to electronic music.

Not only does he play a great selection of most recently released records but also drops lots of stuff from the crate, like unnoticed B-sides or perpetual oldschool nuggets. Truly passionate collector.

Besides that there are frequently guests in his show, from Berlin’s manifold music scene to international artists like Tyler Askew or Mark Pritchard. (more…)

February Promo Mix

I recently finished a new promo mix. Most of the tunes have become some of my favourite records during the past few month and well, I finally had to put it all together at a point as i haven’t done any mix for hmm - quite some time… It’s ranging from tribal-flavoured to clubby stuff, mostly deep and a little funky here and there.

You can either download it as an entire mp3-file or get the CD-compatible version which includes each track as a single file. Both come of course with full tracklisting and the cd cover front and back. Hope you enjoy! Feedback is always welcome.

Track of the month and what i stumbled upon

Gilles Peterson In The HouseI was just looking for a decent picture to illustrate where i got my track of the month from. I’m talking about the second part of Gilles Peterson’s In The House Series On Defected and the track i’m referring to is Peter Kruder’s “Coste” or “Nu Costes Jazz” as called in several versions.

Anyway, it’s on this vinyl and i really love that track. Very cool, afro-rhythm driven deep house tune with oriental strings. But also did i find a video about Gilles Peterson and his massive record collection, recorded by someone of Defected Records. (more…)

This is my first real post…

Cheers at all. I’m just celebrating my first post on this blog with a glas of wine while listening to a very smooth jazz- chillout- fusion track (B2 on Paper Recordings 024). It’s even the last track of the mix i just finished and I’m gonna post it right after this one.

Beside my very own stuff I’m also gonna post some other things here, for instance music related stuff (who would have guessed) but as the headline reveals it’s not only about house music, but everything related to it and yes, also non-musical stuff (that’s what i wanted to indicate with the word “culture”). That maybe everything lifestyle, internet- oder media-related. We’ll see… Hope you enjoy!
